Laravel powers thousands of business websites, but many owners think they need a VPS to run it. In this guide we show how to install a Laravel script on ordinary cPanel hosting in about ten minutes.
What you need
- cPanel hosting with PHP 8.2+
- A domain name pointed to your hosting
- The script ZIP file
Step 1: Select PHP 8.2 or newer
In cPanel open Select PHP Version and choose 8.2, 8.3 or 8.4. Enable the fileinfo, gd, zip and pdo_mysql extensions.
Step 2: Create the database
Go to MySQL Databases, create a database and a user, and grant all privileges.
Step 3: Upload and extract
Upload the ZIP to public_html and extract it. The included .htaccess routes traffic to the public folder securely.
Step 4: Run the installer
Visit yourdomain.com/install, enter the database details and create your admin account.
Step 5: Enable SSL
Run AutoSSL so your site loads over HTTPS — Google uses HTTPS as a ranking signal.
